Housing Rehabilitation

The housing rehabilitation and repair program is an effective housing delivery system responsive to the needs of rural, isolated and disadvantaged residents throughout the southern and south central areas of New Mexico.  Tierra del Sol has made possible home rehabilitation in the City of Sunland Park, the City of Las Cruces, the Town of Mesilla, Dona Ana, Chaves, Luna, Grant, Hidalgo, Catron, Lincoln, Otero, Sierra and Socorro Counties.  These areas encompass a geographical area that is almost half of southern New Mexico.

Tierra del Sol targets its rehab assistance to those most in need which, are the elderly, the handicapped and those with lowest incomes who are at or below the poverty level.

The housing rehabilitation program is based on partnerships with federal, state and local government bodies, and where possible, with the family receiving services.  These partnerships allow for matching funds from various agencies and it fosters a sense of participation and self-esteem among the rural poor.

The scope of our housing rehab program has provided employment and training opportunities in the construction field for young people at risk.
