Multifamily Housing DevelopmentMultifamily housing is an integral part of Tierra del Sol’s mission of providing affordable housing opportunities that include rental housing for special populations. To that end, Tierra del Sol has been actively involved since 1979 in multifamily housing development and management. To date, it has a successful record of production and management of 30 apartment complexes in New Mexico and west Texas. Its initial multifamily housing development was under the USDA Section 514 and Section 516 programs for farm workers and under Section 515 for rural rental housing. Housing for the elderly has been developed under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Section 202 program. Most recently, Tierra del Sol has developed mixed use housing using the New Mexico Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program. In its multifamily housing development, Tierra del Sol plays various roles, besides directly owning or controlling through is subsidiary corporations. Tierra del Sol provides technical assistance to other nonprofit organizations in the development of farm labor housing and as sponsor and nonprofit consultant for the development of supportive housing for the elderly and the disabled.
Senior Housing is developed with financing from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly. Farm Labor Housing is developed with financing from the USDA Rural Development, Section 514 and Section 516 Programs. Rural Rental Housing is developed with financing from the USDA Rural Development, Section 515 Program. |
